The cottage is situated in a wonderful position on one part of a 37 acre farm. The cottage has a truly superb view across the grass field, over chestnuts, pines and oaks, over the Ave Valley to themountains beyond, The house is about 10 mintues walk from the unspoilt river Ave in which one can swim and which flows down to a large man-made lake with natural beaches, The little of Coqueira 700m away has a small shop, a café and the “Pancada Restaurant” which produces good local food, The village of Vieira do Minho, where there are riding stables, is 2km away; Pôvoa de Lanhoso, and the Gerez National park are both 10km away. DETAILS OF ACCOMMODATION The house dates from the 17th Century and was restored in 1997; it is comfortable and well decorated. On the ground floor there is a wash room and a garage. There is also a separate one bedroom flat which is used from time to time. Steps rise to the first floor where the front door opens onto the entrance hall. To the left of the entrance hall is the living room with comfortable seating, a dining table to seat 4 and French windows that open onto the covered balcony that runs the full length of the house and from which there are wonderful views. At the far end of the living room a door opens into a double bedroom with its own bathroom/wc and French windows to the balcony. There is a second bedroom off the entrance hall. This one has 2 single beds, French windows to the balcony and its own shower room/wc. To the right of the front door the entrance hall opens into a kitchen which in turn opens onto a spacious terrace from which there are lovely views. The house has electric heating and a washing machine, and has masses of grassy space outside. Just to the left of the property is a 9m x 4m swimming pool. On the ground floor is a small apartment (the guesthouse) that can only be rented along with the house itself. It is suitable for an independent stay, making the quinta ideal for instance for a family and their grand
